Lloyd's Music Studio has developed an all original Music Educational Curriculum Levels 1 thru 12 for beginning, intermediate and advanced guitar students. These original materials have been developed by Lloyd over many years of teaching, reading, performing, recording and compiling a extensive detailed CD, DVD and manuscript library. Lloyd has also taken many music courses, song-writing and recording courses at DVC college to further his ongoing education. Private instruction, Group guitar classes and musical study has also been an invaluable resource for Lloyd's own musical education. After re-locating to the Santa Cruz area Lloyd was hired by the Community School for Music and Art in Mountain View where he taught private and group classes for adults and teens; and a special teen rock band group class. Lloyd is a former faculty member at the Finn Center,CSMA arts4all.org. Having gone through intense study with several Master Instructors over the years he began to develop his own teaching style, Lloyd continues today to study with a Master Instructor here in Santa Cruz. Lloyd's Music Curriculum is still evolving with new materials coming out every year. These materials are designed to help facilitate the musical education of every student enrolled at Lloyd's Music Studio. After years and years of study Lloyd has found many limitations with available printed and recorded guitar methods so he decided to create his own. These carefully created original materials continues to be the main corner stone of the great success of his private and group lesson plans. Lloyd's original materials gives the guitar student a structured method in an easy way to learn each step by step lesson. The materials are also easy to understand with a clear visual page layout and comprehensive lesson plan built in to each page. These materials are created to be explained in detail by the teacher to enhance each page. The materials are designed to help each student prepare to learn to read standard notation easily, from easy scales to complex modal study. Learn basic to advanced chord structure, develop a sound introduction to musical theory and interval training. Arpeggio chord study is developed as scale and chord knowledge increases. Learn how to improvise and create your own solo, chord changes and begin to learn the art of song-writing. All these musical areas and many more are covered, as well as Lloyd's Custom ear training lesson plan with a musical game to help each student learn how to develop instant ear recall to play on the instrument with the super fun original game Riff Fret! Each Level comes with it's own graduation sheet for the teacher and student to check off each goal as they are completed. This gives each student their own way to measure each week to week, month to month and year to year their own goal completion and Level Graduation. You can go as far as you want with Lloyd's Musical Educational Curriculum from beginner to professional. This program works when you work the program! All of Lloyd's guitar instructors are going through or have completed a Level with a graduation in Level 1,2 or 3. This allows each teacher to use and bring Lloyd's state of the art teaching materials to each class. Lloyd's teaching methods and materials allow each teacher to bring focus to each individual students needs or the needs of a group class of students all working on the same music together. This is no easy task as teaching a student to play the guitar well, it takes allot of education/private instruction in many ways and years of experience to keep the student reaching new goals and setting new goals to reach. The material fees that each student pays for gives him or her a lifetime of wonderful materials to be kept and used throughout each students guitar playing journey. The materials are handed out by the instructor as each student needs them as each student learns at a different pace from each other. Every student has different goals with their guitar playing and some of the materials may vary from student to student to meet their own goals. Lloyd has gone to great lengths and ongoing expense to develop and continue to work on new materials for every guitar student.
